How to activate/ setup the robot?
Turn on Yonbo: Place Yonbo on a flat surface and press and hold the chest button for 2 seconds until the white light turns on. When Yonbo says “I am ready,” the startup is complete.
Download the app: Scan the QR code in the manual or visit https://yonbo.ai/pages/app to install the XORIGIN AI App.
Create an AI Character: Open the app, tap “+ Add Robot & AI Character,” and follow the prompts to fill in your information and create your AI character.
Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your robot in the app, choose your Wi-Fi network, and enter the password to complete the connection.
Once the setup is complete, Yonbo will automatically enter voice conversation mode and is ready to interact with you.
How do i set up Yonbo?
Simple setup for the AI character, the AI MBTI personality preference, naming and finally the Wifi via the app with step-by-step guidance; takes 10-15 minutes.
What should I do if the robot cannot connect to WiFi?
We suggest you first check if the WiFi password is correct (it's case-sensitive) and ensure the robot is within 3 meters of the router. If you still can't connect, try restarting the router and then reconnecting.
My app can’t connect to Yonbo. How can I fix it?
If your app is unable to connect to Yonbo, here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the issue:Check Network and Bluetooth:Yonbo’s Network: Ensure Yonbo is connected to Wi-Fi. Try moving Yonbo closer to your router. Also, check the Wi-Fi band; Yonbo supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands; if 5GHz is unstable, switching to 2.4GHz often provides a more reliable connection.Phone Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Some Yonbo models require an initial Bluetooth connection for the app to detect and pair with them.Update the App: Using an outdated app can cause connection issues. Go to your app store, check if there’s an update for the Yonbo app, and install it if available. After updating, restart both the app and Yonbo before trying to reconnect.Rebind Yonbo: Try freezing the AI character and rebinding Yonbo. In the app, go to the AI Character page, select freeze, then follow the on-screen instructions to restart and bind Yonbo again. Ensure your phone and Yonbo are close together and in a stable network environment throughout the process.
Can the Yonbo be used in an offline environment?
Yonbo's core functions rely on network support, so we recommend using it while connected to the internet. Using it without a network connection may cause some features to malfunction.
Can the robot use a SIM card or eSIM card?
Yonbo currently only supports WiFi network access and does not support SIM or eSIM cards.
Can the name of Yonbo be changed?
You can customize the robot's name in the app. The path is [Settings - Robot Settings ]. The change will take effect immediately.
I can’t log in to X-ORIGIN AI app account or forgot my password. How can I reset it?
Forgot Password:Tap “Forgot Password?” to reset your password.For accounts registered with a phone email, enter your number under “Recover via email ” and follow the verification steps to reset your password.If you don’t receive the email:First, check if your mial is blocking messages.If you still don’t receive it, please provide any one of the following: a device serial number (SN) previously linked to this account, a purchase order number, or a case number you’ve created before. Our support team will help you recover your account.
What AI does it use, and can I choose its large model?
Yonbo primarily uses OpenAI models. We have implemented system-level enhancements to improve memory accuracy, reduce errors, and support synchronized physical control.Currently, OpenAI performs best at filtering sensitive words. We are working on supporting more large language model (LLM) interfaces. In the future, we plan to provide more API options and allow users with developer privileges to integrate their own APIs.
What age group is Yonbo designed for?
Yonbo is designed for children ages 4 to 12, serving as a playful, intelligent companion that learns, interacts, and grows together with them.However, since Yonbo supports AI agents and AI characters, you can fully customize its personality, tone, and interaction style — making it suitable for different users and scenarios.
How can I check my device's SN code?
The device's SN code is located on the back of the robot's neck.
What languages does Yonbo Support?
Currently English, with plans for multilingual updates via OTA.
Can Yonbo play games with my child?
Yes! Yonbo comes with a variety of interactive and educational games designed for children.It can play story-based, reaction, memory, and logic games, and even engage in role-playing activities.These games help children learn and grow while having fun through natural interaction with Yonbo.

How long does the battery last
Battery provides 3.5 hours per 1-hour charge, ideal for daily use.
Can the robot charge automatically?
The robot is designed for home use and may be placed on tables, beds, or the floor. An automatic charging feature could cause the device to fall and get damaged, so it does not currently support automatic charging.
The robot is moving unevenly or making unusual noises. What should I do?
Start by checking the battery level—low power can sometimes cause the robot to move less smoothly. Next, look at the joints to see if anything is stuck; if you spot debris, power off the robot, clear it, and try again. If the issue continues, please get in touch with our support team and we’ll arrange a closer inspection.
What should I do if Yonbo suddenly freezes or starts repeating itself?What can I do if Yonbo speaks slowly or choppily?
If Yonbo freezes, speaks choppily, or repeats itself, try the following steps:Check Your Network Connection:Signal Stability:Poor or fluctuating network signals can cause speech delays or glitches. Move Yonbo closer to your Wi-Fi router and remove obstacles like walls or furniture. If using Wi-Fi, restarting your router or switching to another network (such as a mobile hotspot) can help. Yonbo supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands; if 5GHz is unstable, switching to 2.4GHz often provides a more reliable connection.Bandwidth Usage:Other devices using the same network for downloads or streaming may reduce available bandwidth for Yonbo. Temporarily pausing these activities can help ensure smooth operation.Check Battery and Power:Low Battery:When Yonbo’s battery drops below 20%, performance may be reduced to save power, which can affect speech. Connect Yonbo to the charger and charge above 50%, then try again.Additional Tips:Restart Yonbo: Press and hold the power button to turn it off, then restart. This clears the temporary cache and often resolves minor software glitches.
What should I do if the robot cannot charge and the indicator light is not on?
First, make sure the charging cable is firmly plugged into both the robot and the outlet. Try using a different adapter or outlet to test. If the robot still doesn’t respond, the issue may be with the battery or charging port. Please snap a photo of what you see and reach out to us—we’ll help arrange a service check for you.
Can I refuse to automatically or manually choose to update the system?
To provide you with a better user experience, Yonbo automatically updates its system when it powers on and connects to the network. This is mainly to fix existing bugs and add new features.
How often can the robot perform an OTA update?
Our team actively listens to user feedback and guarantees at least one OTA update per month.
How does Yonbo update the system, and how is it operated?
Please make sure the robot's battery is above 20% and it's connected to WiFi. The system will then automatically download and install the latest version. Do not turn off the power during the update to avoid interrupting the process.
Does the wheels of Yonbo have any requirements for the ground?
Yonbo can move on surfaces like floors and carpets, as long as the ground is stable and flat. However, please avoid using it in sandy or wet environments to prevent damage to the wheels.
What should I do if the robot doesn't understand what I'm saying?
We’re sorry for any inconvenience.To help Yonbo understand you better, please speak clearly and slowly, and try to reduce background noise.Before troubleshooting further, please check whether Yonbo is connected to the network — without a stable connection, Yonbo won’t be able to recognize speech or perform other functions.If the issue continues, please share the exact commands you tried, and our team will further optimize Yonbo’s recognition logic.Yonbo is designed to continuously improve through silent updates, enhancing both language understanding and command interpretation.Over time, as you interact more, Yonbo will become increasingly accurate and responsive, providing a smoother and more enjoyable experience.
I saw that Yonbo has a picture book feature. Can I use my own books with it?
At this time, Yonbo works only with its built-in picture books. We’ll be adding new titles over time, so keep an eye out for updates!
I have several children. Can they play with Yonbo at the same time?
Yonbo allows you to create multiple AI Characters, each a virtual persona customized based on the information you provide about your child. For the best experience, you can assign a unique AI Character to each child.As your child interacts with Yonbo, the AI Character’s memory grows, enabling it to understand your child better and provide more personalized and engaging interactions over time.Currently, only one AI Character can be active at a time. However, multiple children can still have ordinary conversations with Yonbo at the same time,
What's AI Character?Why can't i have more than one user at a time?
The AI Character isn’t just a profile — it’s a personal AI companion for you or your child. Based on the info you share, it understands, remembers, and adapts through conversation. If you have more than one child, please create a separate AI Character for each child. Each AI Character builds a one-to-one connection to provide the most personal experience possible.
Why can’t Yonbo provide real-time weather information?
To ensure the safety of children interacting with Yonbo and to prevent them from accessing inappropriate content on the internet, we have adopted a closed large model architecture. Therefore, it does not currently support internet search functions.
Why isn’t the wristband controlling the robot’s movement?
If your wristband isn’t working, please try the following steps:Check the battery:Ensure the wristband’s batteries have power. Low battery can affect performance.Activate control mode:Say “Control Mode” to the robot and wait until Yonbo confirms it has entered control mode.Pair the wristband:Press and hold the center of the wristband for about 3 seconds until the blue light stays on, indicating a successful connection.
The robot's volume is too low; how can I adjust it?
You can adjust Yonbo’s volume through the Yonbo app:Open the app and tap the speaker icon on the main page to change the volume.ip: If the adjustment doesn’t take effect, make sure Yonbo is connected to the network. Only when online can the volume change successfully.
Can the robot be controlled to move using a smartphone?
It is not currently possible to control the robot's movement via a mobile phone. It only supports voice interaction and control via the smart band.
Does the robot support dialects or other languages?
Yonbo currently supports conversations in English. More languages and dialects are being developed and will be gradually released through future OTA updates.
Can I change the voice of Yonbo? How many options does it have?
The initial version currently only includes one voice option (default one), but we will release more options for you to choose from in the future.
How can I make the robot remember my preferences or habits?
You can manually enter your preferences (e.g., favorite music genres, chat topics) in the Home page of the app.In addition, Yonbo will learn your habits through continuous interaction — the more you use it, the better it understands you.
How can I transfer ownership of yonbo?
We recommend resetting the YONBO and freeze the AI character allows for rebinding. This will allow your family member or others to set it up as a new device and connect it to their WiFi.
Can Yonbo’s camera take photos or record videos?
Yonbo’s camera only turns on when triggered by specific voice commands. It may take photos during certain multi-modal recognition tasks, but all images are encrypted and processed securely. Nothing is saved on the device or stored for later use.
Can I view my chat history, like I do in other AI chat applications?
To protect your privacy, all conversations are fully encrypted, and chat history is not accessible. This ensures that your personal information remains secure at all times.
How can I delete the information Yonbo has stored about me?
You can manage this directly in the app. Go to Account Settings → AI Character → Delete AI Character.Once deleted, all interaction records linked to you will be removed from Yonbo. Don’t worry—this will not affect the robot’s basic functions.
Will Yonbo collect my private information?
Your privacy is our top priority, and we take data security very seriously.Yonbo follows the data minimization principle—we only collect the essential data needed to support its core functions (such as speech-to-text), which helps minimize potential security risks. Importantly, we never use customer data for AI training.All data is processed and stored in the United States on AWS servers, with full compliance to strict industry standards and certifications.
